The No-Fire bug has been undermining AX combat since Update 16. For those unfamiliar, AX combat is one of the most demanding and rewarding gameplay loops in Elite, and the no-fire bug hollows it out. Encounters that should test a pilot’s skill and nerve have ceased to exist. It doesn’t matter how good the fight is designed to be if the other side simply stops shooting.
Issue Trackers on frontiers website have 2 stages. “Confirming” and “Voting”. Frontier prioritizes by visibility, and right now this bug has been sitting since Update 16 because they “can’t reproduce it”. The more confirmations and votes it has, the harder it is to leave in the backlog. The post is currently into the “voting” stage.
